PROGRAM OVERVIEW
-
The United State Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) provides assistance once per calendar year to eligible United State residents who:
-
*Have past-due rent;
-
*Cannot afford move-in costs for a new unit they have identified and plan to lease; and/or
-
*Need limited assistance with future rent to maintain their housing.
-
*
-
Eligibility Criteria:
- *Current resident of United State
- *If applying for back/future rent: Experienced a recent financial hardship within the past 12 months.
- Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), RAD, and HOPE SF tenants only: Please work with your property management and onsite services before applying to confirm your eligibility. Special processes apply for tenants in these programs.
- *
-
Selection Criteria: Due to limited program funding, ERAP can only provide financial assistance to eligible applicants with the highest risk of homelessness or housing loss, based on responses to questions in this application.
- Meeting ERAP criteria, or receiving assistance from ERAP in the past, does not guarantee that you will receive assistance. We know that many households are struggling to make ends meet, but the program has limited resources and is not able to serve every household who applies.
If you do not qualify for financial assistance from ERAP, you may be eligible for other community.
